Nike, Ryka, and Rider Footwear
March 9, 2010I haven’t had the time to have the soles of my Nike Shox rubber shoes (which was given to me in 2006 by Nike) repaired so since we were in Subic last Saturday, we went to Duty Free to look at shoes. Peter and I bought a few pairs we both liked. Who knew that come Sunday, I would again buy shoes from Janilyn? Teehee. ^_^
Peter’s Nike shoes
In our family, I was never the brand conscious type. Maybe this is why advertising never really worked for me. Hehehe. I never get affected by ads and I don’t really care what most people prefer. I have my own, unique, and weird taste most of the time. It’s my sister who cares about buying expensive and branded stuff. I guess I just learned to value my money the hard way so as long as my stuff are pretty and sturdy, then I really don’t care about the brand.
But thanks to my hubby and my girlfriend Ninette, they sales talked me into buying my Ryka sneakers which Peter said is a very good brand in the US, and my Rider rubber slippers which is even better than Crocs. They looked pretty heavy duty too. And since they were on sale (Ryka was around Php2000 and Rider was priced at P1116), I went ahead and bought them. My Rider slippers will be my official beach foot wear (Goodbye easily breakable Havaianas!!!) and my Ryka will be my jogging and biking shoes. I hope they both last longer than my Nike. ^_^
My New Janilyn Shoes
I bought them last weekend and I can’t wait to wear them some time soon! They’re just so gorgeous! I can’t choose which color to buy so as youcan see, for the two designs, I bought two each!
P.S. I just found out that Juan is a brand name taken after Janily’s dad. Coolness! It’s my last name too! Woot!
Casual Wear from the City, to the Forest, to the Beach
March 6, 2010On my birthday weekend last month, I came up with four casual attires perfect for my scheduled activities. For my Momolicious birthday lunch and dinner with family, this was what I came up with: YRYS dress, knitted cardigan and beige tube top from SM, beaded necklace and bracelet which I made myself, Baby G-shock waterproof watch, shades and my reliable Crocs
For our Treetop Adventure, I decided to wear something dark and comfy: top from 248, leggings from Time Square in Kuala Lumpur, Boracay beaded accessories and Crocs
For our beach trip at All Hands Beach in Subic, I just wore one of my knitted bikini tops and some old pair of shorts. At that time, I have yet to buy my new pairs of bikinis. ^_^
Before going home, I just changed into a comfortable pair of leggings (one of the 11 pairs I bought at Kuala Lumpur) and smock plus some native accessor^_^
Summer Wear, Beach Fashion & Party Dresses - My Birthday Loot
March 2, 2010I turned 32 last Feb. 18, 2010. But deep inside I still feel like the same Jen I used to be when I was 21 years old — young, carefree, hopeful, and grateful about life. Maybe I’m just a bit wiser now when it comes to stuff that really matters (like finding my bliss, giving more, paying for a house, car, insurance and other big ticket stuff). So when it comes to money, I don’t care much about the brands of stuff I buy especially if it’s just clothes and fashion accessories, but as long as I’m comfy & they make me look pretty, as long as the material can withstand the test of time, as long as it’s within my budget and means, I go all out for it! So, on my birthday, aside from spending it with my family in Subic doing frightening and life-conquering stunts at TREETOP ADVENTURE, I also spent it with my hubby shopping!!! Here they are:
All these clothes on top say one thing: BEEEEAAAACCCHHHHH!!!!!! ^_^
Do you know that Peter chooses the kind of bikinis I buy? He really has a good eye for style. Anyway, I usually buy my bikinis from SM coz the material is good, they fit my boobs and they’re not expensive! I got each pair for only Php549.50. I plan to buy some more.
These tops are from Eastwood tiangge and I got them for P100 each except the one in the middle which consists of a white shirt and black vest for only P180.00. All these will definitely go well with the 11 pairs of muti-color leggings I bought at Time Square in Kuala Lumpur. ^_^
The red and purple cocktail dresses were actually from Kuala Lumpur too. But I still haven’t worn them since I bought them last January. ^_^ The olive green dress is also from Eastwood tiangge for only Php250.
Furry shoes! I love everything furry! I got furry gloves, furry bags, furry coats…etc. I totally fell in love with these 2 pairs as soon as I saw them! I actually don’t know yet when I’m gonna wear them. Maybe one of these weekends when I’m not traveling… I’m gonna party with my girls like old times! Oh, and I got both for only Php1,100.00^_^
How about you? What’s your summer loot so far?
My Braless Valentine Weekend
February 18, 2010Last Valentine weekend, my hubby and I spent it outdoors. We went all the way to Caliraya, to try our hands at windsurfing. It was so addicting! Then we headed to Casa San Pablo to wind down and spend the night. On Valentine’s Day itself, we visited two of the most breathtaking lakes I’ve seen in my entire life — Pandin and Yambo Lakes. Do watch out for my complete post on that on my travel blog. Anyway, that weekend, I wore dainty yet comfortable clothes, my Puca shell accessories from Boracay, my Casio G-Shock waterproof watch, my white plastic headband, my butterfly shades, and my ever reliable pairs of Crocs, perfect for fun, adventure and relaxation.
I bought this pink smock dress when I went to Bali last year. The semi-cardigan top used to be whole before but then I decided to cut it several years back (I think year 2002 to be exact… I had all sorts of Cardigans then in all possible colors). After 8 years, I wore it again and it failed to fit my boobs. ^_^
I’ve had this long sleeved, flimsy, satin top since 2004 when my hubby and I first tried our membership at Club Panoly in Boracay. I love this blouse coz it’s always comfy when worn in an out of town trip. I use it as my pjs and I always sleep soundly when I do. I paired it with another flimsy pants which I also only wear when I’m beach bumming.
I bought this red smock top at Time Square in Kuala Lumpur when I went there last January 2010. It fit my boobs well and I again didn’t have to wear bra anymore. The pair of leggings was one of the 11-12 pairs I bought in Kuala Lumpur too! They’re perfect for hiking and mountain climbing coz they protected my legs from insects, leaves, and grass.
P.S. Had I known it was going to be cold, I would’ve worn my bra that weekend. ^_^
MyTVOptions.com - My option for Direct TV
February 17, 2010I was attracted by the DIRECTTV deals they offer. Currently, they give 50% discount for one year plus I get to choose a package with access to 225+ channels, 50 of which are in HD / high definition! Wow! That would be like watching movies in blue ray disc all the time!
And speaking of discs, they also give HD DVR & HD receiver plus 2 free upgrades at $298 value! Using Skype, I went ahead and aksed.
I was just so satisfied with their customer service that I am trelling my cousin about it now.
Gaga Over Leggings
January 28, 2010I must have bought around 10 pairs of leggings at Timesquare in Kuala Lumpur when I went there last January 6-8, 2010 so it’s all I wear every time I have the chance. They’re so comfortable and light and reminds me of my childhood days in the 80’s and teendom in the 90’s. For me, they have so many uses they could never run out of style. Haylaveeeet!
Me and My Feather Headbands
January 26, 2010For some reason, I have a vague memory of having feather headbands as a child. But I’m not really sure if it’s just my imagination. After all, even as a kid, I’ve always been kikay with my own sense of fashion and style. Then last October, when I was in Singapore, I saw tons of them floating around town. I didn’t buy though since I still had long wavy hair then and I preferred wearing my hats at that time. Now that I have short hair, I think accessorizing my head with a feathery headband is starting to become a good idea. So I bought three at YRYS two weekends ago and I’m loving it so far!

KECCi Body Bag / Backpack
January 17, 2010As I was backpacking in Southeast Asia last Jan.1-8, I couldn’t help but think about getting a sturdy backpack for my travels… one that is not too big and not too small either… one where I can fit a lot of stuff (clothes, food, water, laptop even plus some more space for shopping) without needing to check-in my pack coz it is now very expensive to check-in your luggage. Like in Singapore, Vietnam and Kuala Lumpur, even if you just check-in 1 kg of bag, you will be charged around $25-49 each bag). So getting a backpack was definitely on my to-buy list this year so I can go on more budget backpacking trips in the future.
As it happens, we saw a backpack that we liked while we were in Living Well yesterday. This body backpack was on 50% discount. Peter was the one who saw it. He always has eyes for best buys so I went to where he was and looked at the bags. They were selling for only Php475.00 each. I know that sounds crazy so I went into my O.C. mode again and began scrutinizing the product. It seemed like this bag has a catch. I got one off the rack, took it out of its plastic, opened all its pockets, zippers, velcrows and analyzed the material and fabric. Just like the Jeep camera holster, this KECCi body backpack looked and felt sturdy. Peter got another one and scrutized it too. We even adjusted each bag to fit our backs. It wasn’t long before we finally bought two. Come take a look!
KECCi body Bag has plenty of pockets.
It has an extra bag inside for laundry and what-nots.
It also comes with its own kikay kit.
There’s room to easily reach your cellphone and wallet and a space for passport and documents.
There’s even space inside for a standard-sized laptop
This can be used to protect the laptop inside.
The size is just great!
Okay, here’s the catch, when I surfed the net for KECCi bags, I found out that we actually bought a Daddy’s/Mommy’s Baby/Diaper bag . That’s why there were a lot of pockets, that’s why there’s this soft rubbery mat which I thought is for laptop protection. Is this the universe’s way of telling us to go have a baby? LOL. Oh well. What’s important is the bag is sturdy and can serve a lot of purpose. Baby and otherwise. ^_^
