Hello Summer (Part I)
March 9, 2009Believe it or not, this was the costume I donned in one of my recent job interviews. I was asked to wear something that best captures my essence. Since I am The Sexy Nomad and I love going to the beach and traveling to exotic places more than anything in the world, I figured, a nice “touristy” beach wear would be perfect. I looked fun, don’t you think?

Weekend Party Outfits
February 28, 2009Itis my personal campaign this year to refrain from buying new party clothes and accessories. Money is better spent somewhere else like maybe putting up our own business, investing in stocks or life insurance or simply keeping them in our own bank account, don’t you think? However, on occasions when we do need to hang loose and party, it’s still nice to look our best, right? So what I did was look for those classic pieces that I haven’t worn in a long while, doll them up with nice shoes, bags & jewelry hidden somewhere at the back of my closet and voila! We are ready to party!!!!

Mix & Match Attires for Job Interviews
February 22, 2009I’m once again selling my skills and services to prospective employers. Considering our current financial situation, I deem it wise to hold on to my cash rather than buy fabulous outfits for my major job interviews. So lately, I have been using my all-time favorite slacks (I’ve already sold my other pairs in one of my garage sales) I bought from Memo and matching it with my not-so-used blouses/tops.

Red & Black Affair
January 3, 2009
Every New Year, our family has always been accustomed to wearing red. Actually, the most perfect outfit supposedly is that of any red and polka dot combination. But since it’s hard to find clothes with polka dot design these days, we are happy to wear just red. In Chinese culture, red symbolizes luck and fortune, thus, our practice of wearing such so we may attract more luck and fortune this new year. As for me, just to spice things up a bit, I wore a bit of black too. They look really nice together. A bit classic-looking, but nice. Black for me symbolizes the stable combination of all positive forces (at least in my own world). Isn’t it that when you combine all colors, you produce black?

2008 and Outfit Changes
December 31, 2008
Here’s a look back at the year that was through some of the many different outfits I wore. Would you be able to tell me what the common denominator is? I still can’t figure it out. All I know is that every time I head out of the house, I wear what’s comfy on my skin. I’m not one to follow the conventions but I’m not the type to go simple either. But I at least make sure they somehow match and look pleasing to the eyes.
So anyway, cheers to the many other outfits 2009 will bring me. Bring them on!

Ecclectic Taste in Jewelry
December 13, 2008We discovered this really cool shop called Bohemian Nation Trading Company which sells quite expensive furniture, jewelry, and house decors imported from India and Thailand.
And as what would happen when I get surrounded with beautiful things… I ended buying 5 Bohemian tea lamps for the house, 8 packs of incense sticks (Opium, Coffee, Dragon’s Blood, Frankincense & Myrrh and Ruda), and 5 funky rings made of glass and bones. Then Peter bought me this beautiful amethyst set. It’s my second one, the first being being his spontanoeus gift for me when we visited Singapore and bought one right there at their jewlery factory back in 2005. But this particular amethyst set is just so much prettier! Thanks baby! You just really know how to melt my heart all the more.

Comfort is Key
November 7, 2008Comfort + clubbing or gimmicking are words that don’t really go well together coz most young people (even those not so young) I see who go clubbing or attend dance parties until the wee hours of the morning don’t exactly wear the most comfortable of outfits. You know why? Number one, they most often than not wear super high heels to accentuate and elongate their legs. And two, they wear the most tight fitting of clothes to further create an illusion of ultra sexiness and desirability.

Fashionista Since Birth
June 18, 2008
Just like any other talent, gift or skill, one is either born into it or groomed/nurtured/educated to have it.

Attack of the Paparazzi… Not!
June 17, 2008I really wonder what’s so bad about being hounded by paparazzis. I think it’s great! You get photographed everywhere, it pressures you to look good all the time (which is not a bad thing) and the whole world sees how fabulous you are and gets inspired with the wonderful things you do in your life that they end up following your lead (or at least try to do some good in their own respective lives too). So, last weekend, Peter and I simulated some paparazzi shots… just for kicks! It’s fabulous!
Saturday…
